So I had a wander around the bike show to check out the new metal for 2023, impressed with the bikes on offer. Especially liked the new models from Suzuki, it’s great to see them still making motorcycles – with their withdrawal from MotoGP and the end of the line for the last, proper 4-cylinder GSX-R it seemed they were laying the groundwork for a retreat from the motorcycle side of things. The all-new 800 V-Strom and GSX-8S strongly sugest otherwise.
As well as the usual fantastic array of bikes from established marques such as Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Triumph, Royal Enfield, BMW, H-D and Ducati, there were also appearances from younger EV brands with show presence from the likes of Zero, Energica and Stirling Eco. Electric may not be THE future, but it’s one possible avenue we need to explore.
Great to see a major player like Kawasaki showcase their drive for alternative, greener solutions too. Will hydrogen be practical? Who knows? But until we start backing up the discussion with action we’ll never find out.
Anyway, check out my video from the show, below.
