The beautiful simplicity of the Suzuki Scrambler

Let’s go back to a time when this was all fields with this Suzuki DR650 Scrambler koncept

Scramblers – they came about when people used to ‘scramble’ from one place to another as quickly as possible. Whether it was off-road or on, the bike needed to be capable and light: the more stripped down to the bone, the better. We’ve always had a soft spot for the DR range and we believe that Suzuki could give us what we want. So forget the complexity of Ducati’s L-twin Scrambler and take a look at what Suzuki could give us.

No fuel mapping modes, no traction control, no ABS, no excess plastic bodywork, no radiator, no flab. A single-cylinder thumper with long-travel suspension, block tyres, a bash plate, 2-gallon fuel tank and we’re good to go. The kick start alone will earn you 10 extra man points every time it’s used.
